Browns reiterate no plans to trade Josh Gordon
Trading wide receiver Josh Gordon wouldn't seem to make much sense for the Cleveland Browns.
Gordon has 18 receptions for 303 yards and two touchdowns since serving a two-game suspension for violating the NFL substance-abuse policy. Gordon's status in the league drug program would seem to negatively affect his trade value.
Gordon remains a frequent topic of trade speculation, though, with the latest report linking him to the San Francisco 49ers.
“I’m not going to get into any specifics about rumors and all those type of things," Browns coach Rob Chudzinski said during a press conference. "I will say we are not shopping Josh and we have no plans of trading Josh.”
And Browns CEO Joe Banner told USA Today: "We're absolutely not shopping Josh. We're not going to shop him and we don't have any plan or intention to trade him."

"When we did the Trent Richardson trade, the perception was we were throwing in the towel, we got calls on players. I guess that was a natural reaction based on how the move was perceived," Banner said. "If you're in this long enough, you learn to never say anything absolute, because then something comes up and you look like you lied. I personally -- and I think anybody here -- would be completely shocked if we ended up trading him. Josh is playing great. He's working his butt off."
