Broncos starting DT Ty Warren re-tore his triceps in Sunday night’s win over the Steelers. He missed all of the 2011 season with a triceps injury.
Head coach John Fox would not say if Warren would be placed on the injured-reserve list. “Obviousl, we don’t want to lose a player like Ty for a significant time, and this obviously will be, but we’ll adjust,” Fox told reporters. “Next man up.”
If Warren lands on I.R., it would be the third consecutive season that he has missed. He did not play in 2010 when he was with the Patriots because of a hip injury.
The 31-year-old had one tackle in Sunday night’s win. He has 20½ sacks in his career and missed only seven games from 2003-09. Kevin Vickerson could start in Warren’s place.
Fox also announced that the team would re-sign QB Caleb Hanie.
