Milwaukee Brewers catcher Jonathan Lucroy is expected to miss six weeks with a broken right hand.
The team said that surgery to have a pin inserted has been scheduled for Friday morning.
Lucroy told reporters that he was hurt in a freak accident Sunday night. He had reached under his hotel room bed for a sock when a suitcase fell on his hand.
Brewers Manager Ron Roenicke told reporters that Lucroy didn't need surgery, but could still miss up to eight weeks.
