LOS ANGELES -- The Milwaukee Brewers feasted off the Los Angeles bullpen to spoil a fine debut by Dodgers pitcher Matt Magill in a 6-4 win on Saturday night at Dodger Stadium.
Magill got the emergency call-up from triple-A Albuquerque on Saturday after right-hander Stephen Fife was placed on the 15-day disabled list earlier in the day.
Magill threw 6 2/3 innings and allowed two runs and four hits while striking out seven before exiting with a 3-2 lead.
Then, disaster for the Dodgers. Magill's replacement, Paco Rodriguez, allowed a bunt single to Norichika Aoki, and Aoki advanced to second on an error.
More disaster: After Matt Guerrier replaced Rodriguez, Carlos Gomez immediately followed with a two-run homer to seize a 4-3 lead.
The Brewers added two runs on a Martin Maldonado two-run homer in the eighth.
Gomez went 3 for 5 with two RBI and two runs. Yuniesky Betancourt added two hits.
Wily Peralta picked up the win after allowing three runs and six hits in six innings. Jim Henderson notched his sixth save.
Matt Kemp went 2 for 4 for the Dodgers with two runs and Andre Ethier added a home run in the eighth.
Milwaukee took a 2-0 lead in the third, nibbling away at McGill to load the bases before Betancourt singled home Aoki and Rickie Weeks followed with an RBI fielder's choice that scored Gomez.
The Dodgers responded in the third and the fourth to tie the score at 2.
A.J. Ellis singled in Juan Uribe in the third and Kemp scored on a throwing error by backup shortstop Alex Gonzalez, starting in place of Jean Segura.
