BREAKING: Tito Ortiz Injured, Out of Bellator PPV Main Event Bout with Rampage Jackson

Tito Ortiz Says He is Healthy, Training, and Waiting on Bellator for a Fight

Bellator’s worst nightmare leading up to its first pay-per-view offering came true on Friday when Tito Ortiz had to withdraw from his main event match-up with Quinton “Rampage” Jackson.

MMAWeekly.com sources close to the event on Friday confirmed the news first reported by MMAFighting.com.

Bellator, known for its tournament format and weekly events on Spike TV, was building the majority of its promotional efforts around the Rampage vs. Tito main event, and even billed it as Bellator: Rampage vs. Tito.

The card, slated for Nov. 2 in Long Beach, Calif., also features several title bouts, and most of Bellator’s more prominent names, but as of the time of publication, it was unclear what direction the promotion would take with its main event falling apart.

Bellator and Spike officials scheduled a news teleconference for Friday afternoon.

MMAWeekly.com will have further details as the situation develops.
