Blake Griffin finished with 21 points and recorded 10 rebounds, his 18th double-double of the season, to lead the Los Angeles Clippers to a victory over the New Orleans Pelicans, 108-95. The Clippers put together a very efficient performance, turning it over on only nine possessions while totaling 25 assists. Los Angeles (18-9) is now on a three-game winning streak.
Griffin went 8-16, including 2-3 from three-point range. Other top performers for Los Angeles were Jared Dudley with 20 points and 5 rebounds, DeAndre Jordan with 14 points and 20 rebounds, and Darren Collison with 14 points and 5 rebounds. Despite the loss, Anthony Davis put up 24 points off the bench for New Orleans on 10-18 shooting from the field and 4-7 from the free throw line. He also registered 12 rebounds. Ryan Anderson chipped in 17 points and 9 rebounds, Jrue Holiday finished with 13 points and 10 assists, and Tyreke Evans put up 11 points and 13 rebounds.
The Clippers posted a sterling assist-to-turnover ratio of 2.78. This year, they are 4-1 when they exceed 2.50 in this metric. Conversely, the Pelicans are winless (0-2) when allowing their opponents to achieve such a stellar ratio.
New Orleans (11-13) has now dropped their last three consecutive games.
Coming up, the Clippers battle the Denver Nuggets, who are 14-10 on the season. The Pelicans match up with the Portland Trail Blazers, currently sitting at 22-5 this year.
