The Jacksonville Jaguars named Blaine Gabbert as their starting quarterback, which comes as no surprise.

However, the Jaguars also announced that Gabbert sustained a hairline fracture to the thumb on his throwing hand. He's out for the remainder of the preaseason and slated to return for the season opener against the  Kansas City Chiefs, according to the team.

Gabbert excelled against the New York Jets: 13 of 16 accuracy for 165 yards and a touchdown.

Gabbert was chosen as the starter over Chad Henne.

A former first-round draft pick from Missouri, Gabbert has passed for 3,876 yards, 21 touchdowns and 17 interceptions in two NFL seasons.
