Big Board: Football

The Big Board takes into consideration past returns, current performance and expected future gains in determining who should be included among the top 50 fantasy football players. Essentially, the Big Board is a cheat sheet designed for an owner who is planning to participate in a draft today. Yahoo! Sports Fantasy Football default scoring settings are used as the baseline for the Big Board, which is updated on a regular basis.

Big Board 50: Football
Player Pos. vs ECR Stock
1. Adrian Peterson (MIN) RB +3 About only negative to throw his way is that schedule is not kind going forward
2. LeSean McCoy (PHI) RB +6 Avg 23 touches, top fantasy RB in PPG after 1st 3 games under Coach Kelly
3. Jamaal Charles (KAN) RB +9 As expected under Coach Reid, receiving #'s are spiking (18 rec./TD thru 3 weeks)
4. Doug Martin (TAM) RB +13 24+ carries per game helping offset surprising lack of work in pass game
5. Marshawn Lynch (SEA) RB +11 Counting postseason, has 30 TDs in past 33 games
6. Peyton Manning (DEN) QB -5 Pass options arguably 2nd-to-none - lack of strong backfield benefits Peyton, too
7. Arian Foster (HOU) RB +15 Love his end-game setup (Jags twice , Colts from Weeks 12-15)
8. Calvin Johnson (DET) WR +11 Has 3 TD in 1st 3 games - didn't get his 2nd TD until Week 11 in '12
9. Aaron Rodgers (GNB) QB -7 Top 2 QB every year since replacing Favre ('08-'12) - '13 looks like more of same
10. Drew Brees (NOR) QB -7 Has thrown for at least 300 yards in 8 straight regular-season games
11. Matt Forte (CHI) RB +9 Thanks to Trestman system (19 catches), 4th in total touches
12. Alfred Morris (WAS) RB +9 Model of consistency: 8+ fantasy points in 10 straight reg.-season games
13. Brandon Marshall (CHI) WR +17 Rare WR consistency: TD and/or 90+ rec. yards in 14 of past 16 games
14. A.J. Green (CIN) WR +11 Go deep: Over 80 passes to AJ since '11 that traveled 20+ yards in air
15. Dez Bryant (DAL) WR +13 Schedule as friendly as it gets for WR, especially those NFC East secondaries
16. Julio Jones (ATL) WR +15 Looking like true Year 3 explosion - top fantasy WR after 1st 3 weeks
17. DeMarco Murray (DAL) RB +15 After 3 games, 2nd only to McCoy in Yards from Scrimmage (402)
18. Ray Rice (BAL) RB +5 Dealing w/ sore hip, and substantial workload infringement by Pierce
19. C.J. Spiller (BUF) RB +8 Hasn't gone wild yet but, given sizeable workload, it'll happen soon enough
20. Jimmy Graham (NOR) TE +17 To the point that you can write in 1,000 yards and 10 TDs in pen
21. D. Thomas (DEN) WR +15 Inc. postseason, has 75+ yards in 20 of past 27 games (16 TDs)
22. Victor Cruz (NYG) WR +21 Slot stud has excellent rapport w/ Eli - 89 ypg, 22 TDs past 33 reg.-season games
23. Frank Gore (SFO) RB +16 You knew SF power run game wouldn't be stuck in mud for long (20/153/1 in W4)
24. Andre Johnson (HOU) WR +24 Still a PPR beast, but 6 TD in past 27 reg-season games hard to dismiss
25. Reggie Bush (DET) RB +4 The Vick of RBs-- love him when he's healthy, but can't bank on that
26. DeSean Jackson (PHI) WR +24 Kelly's spread opening up deep shots for D-Jax (leader in catches of 40+ yards w/ 3)
27. Randall Cobb (GNB) WR +18 What's not to like? Top 5 among WR in catches, yards after 3 weeks (and 2 TD)
28. Darren McFadden (OAK) RB +14 Has handled weak competition, unfortunately sched. gets rough after W4 (WAS)
29. Matt Ryan (ATL) QB -24 Has weapons to rival Peyton's - 2 TD passes in each of 1st 3 games
30. Michael Vick (PHI) QB -19 Fits dynamic Kelly system like a glove, but ability to stay healthy in it a major concern
31. Jordy Nelson (GNB) WR +15 No. 4 WR thru 3 weeks almost matchup proof given degree-of-difficulty catch skills
32. Wes Welker (DEN) WR +24 Peyton loves his slot weapons, and he's got one of the all-time greats in Welker
33. Steven Jackson (ATL) RB +32 Excellent fit in ATL offense, but thigh injury slows his roll for a few weeks
34. Trent Richardson (IND) RB -10 Schedule tougher for RB in Indy, and Bradshaw won't be a complete bystander
35. Pierre Garcon (WAS) WR +25 The way WAS defense is going, garbage time production for Garcon could be steady
36. Chris Johnson (TEN) RB -1 Love volume (23 carries per), though brutal sched. up to W8 bye (SF, SEA, KC, NYJ)
37. Cam Newton (CAR) QB -30 So far, move to more traditional offense mixed results for Cam's value
38. Larry Fitzgerald (ARI) WR +6 QB change already ceiling raiser for Fitz, but ARI pass protection still stinks
39. Rob Gronkowski (NWE) TE +34 Likely Week 4 return from back injury about as good as Gronk owners could hope for
40. Eddie Lacy (GNB) RB +24 Will likely be back in the saddle of the GB backfield in Week 5 (concussion)
41. Colin Kaepernick (SFO) QB -31 SEA may have his #, but he won't see them again until Week 14
42. Tony Romo (DAL) QB -29 Arguably the softest schedule for a fantasy QB the rest of the way
43. M. Jones-Drew (JAC) RB +6 Jag offense is beyond awful, and MoJo looking a step slow out of the gates
44. Jordan Cameron (CLE) TE +45 Has outscored all WRs thru 3 weeks, only TE Graham has more receiving production.
45. Matthew Stafford (DET) QB -36 Throwing less passes in '13, so far, but completing them at career-high rate (63.6%)
46. Robert Griffin III (WAS) QB -32 Garbage time all-star wants to run more, but knee is clearly not close to 100%
47. Marques Colston (NOR) WR +19 Like teammate Graham, 8-10 TDs, 1000+ yards a foregone conclusion
48. Tom Brady (NWE) QB -42 On the opposite end of the spectrum from Peyton in terms of supporting cast talent
49. Russell Wilson (SEA) QB -31 Up/Down fantasy start, but poised for another strong 2nd half w/ Harvin coming soon
50. Joique Bell (DET) RB +31 No joke: Joique No. 4 RB thru 3 weeks, has healthy 12-15 touch role even w/ Bush
