Bengals terminate Wharton's contract

Offensive lineman Travelle Wharton had his contract terminated by the Cincinnati Bengals. Signed by the team last offseason, Wharton suffered a season-ending knee injury during the preseason.
The 10th-year veteran last played in 2011, starting all 16 games for the Carolina Panthers. Wharton, 32, entered the league in 2004 and has started all 99 of the career games he has appeared in.
