The Cincinnati Bengals signed tight end Alex Smith as an unrestricted free agent.
Smith spent the past three seasons with the Cleveland Browns. He appeared in 12 games in 2012 and had 13 receptions for 47 yards. He spent more time at H-back than as a pure tight end. He also missed three games with a concussion.
Smith began his career with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2005, after being selected in the third round. He also played with the Philadelphia Eagles.
