The Cincinnati Bengals promoted cornerback Chris Lewis-Harris from their practice squad on Thursday. with cornerback Terence Newman expected to miss 1-3 weeks due to an MCL sprain in his left knee.
Dre Kirkpatrick is likely to get his first NFL start against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday. Kirkpatrick has played well the past three games and has a sack and interception in that span.
Newman injured his knee during the second half of last week's 42-28 win over the Indianapolis Colts but should be ready to return for the playoffs.
Lewis-Harris spent seven weeks on the active roster this year and made three tackles in three games played.
The Bengals also released safety Tony Dye, who returned a blocked punt for a touchdown against the Cleveland Browns last month in the one game he was active for the Bengals.
