Bellator Fighting Championships kicked off its seventh season on Friday night at Caesars in Atlantic City, N.J.
The season kicked off with all four quarterfinal bouts of the promotion’s welterweight tournament with most of the favorites capturing victory.
Former Bellator welterweight champion Lyman Good is back in the tournament, trying to earn his way back to a title shot. He started things off on the right foot, winning a unanimous decision over highly touted British fighter Jim Wallhead.
Marius Zaromskis and Andrey Koreshkov also earned decision victories over their opponents to earn births into the semifinal round.
Michail Tsarev was the only tournament fighter to put a stamp on his step into the semifinals. He took out Tim Welch with a rear naked choke finish midway through the second round to move on in the tournament.
Good and Tsarev will now square off in the semifinals, as will Zaromskis and Koreshkov, at Bellator 78 on Oct. 26 at the Nutter Center in Dayton, Ohio.
