With the CONCACAF Gold Cup on the horizon, Alejandro Bedoya continues to make a strong case to be among the final group called in by U.S. national team coach Jurgen Klinsmann. Follow GOAL.COM on Twitter
Bedoya tallied his seventh goal in all competitions Sunday, notching the equalizer in Helsingborg's 1-1 draw away at Kalmar. Bedoya, who scored in the 49th minute to negate Melker Hallberg's first-half strike, now has five league goals -- all of which have come in the last eight games -- for the club that is currently sitting atop the Swedish top flight, nursing a two-point lead over Goteborg.
Bedoya, a U.S. national team January camp call-up, was included on the USA's 35-man provisional roster for the Gold Cup, one that will be sliced down to 23 ahead of next month's competition. Bedoya, 26, played in five games in the 2011 Gold Cup and started three times in the competition under manager Bob Bradley, including the final against Mexico.
