Bears sign TE Pope, waive Eldridge

Tight end Leonard Pope signed a one-year deal with the Chicago Bears, who waived tight end Brody Eldridge.
Pope, 6-8, 264 pounds, has played in 103 career NFL games with 51 starts over seven seasons with the with the Arizona Cardinals (2006-08), Kansas City Chiefs (2009-11) and Pittsburgh Steelers (2012). Known primarily for his blocking, Pope has 105 career receptions for 982 yards and 11 touchdowns.
He appeared in all 16 games for the Steelers last season, catching three passes for nine yards, including two touchdowns.
