Just when we thought that 2016 couldn’t get any more magical, Barnes and Noble are hosting Harry Potter holiday balls and we NEED to go.
This year has been pretty special for Harry Potter fans. Not only have we been gifted with play The Cursed Child, which is likely to come to Broadway in 2018, but we also got a prequel in the shape of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. Similarly, next year is the 20th anniversary of since the first Potter book was published (in the U.K. anyway).
Now it seems that Barnes and Noble are wanting to get in on all this Wizarding action, too.
While we’re not 100% sure that the events will be an exact replica of the Yule Ball from The Goblet of Fire (IMAGINE), they do sound like LOADS of fun.
In a press release, B&N noted that there will be “dancing, music, Harry Potter-themed activities and a special giveaway at stores nationwide.”
These activities will include a Harry Potter craft station (OMG), Wizard charades, trivia, a word search, and coloring. Also, we’re pretty sure that, given that it’s nearly Christmas, there’ll be games of Wizard Chess going on, too. After all, what are witches and wizards meant to do over the holiday period but play games of Wizard Chess. Some stores, the press release states, will even be giving away wizard-themed treats!
Barnes & Noble’s Harry Potter Wizarding Balls take place on December 9th. Essentially, this is the wizarding event of the season, so it’s not to be missed.
