Bad bounce causes nightmare goof for Bobby Ryan (Video)

The Ottawa Senators had a 3-0 lead against the Boston Bruins in the second period of Game 3 on Monday night, but Bruins erased it by the end of the period.

One reason why: This nightmarish sequence for Bobby Ryan of the Senators.

Ryan was back at his own blue line, attempting to handle a bouncing puck. But that puck, it just kept on bouncing … right under Ryan’s stick.

David Backes of the Bruins charged past him, leading to a very awkward moment in which Ryan’s stick and glove went flying as he fell to the ice.

Backes controlled the puck and snapped a shot through Craig Anderson for his first of the playoffs, cutting the lead to 3-2 just 42 seconds after Noel Acciari scored Boston’s first goal. David Pastrnak tied the game at 13:51.

Tough one for Ryan, who’s been quite good in the playoffs so far, with three points in three games.
