Arkansas State took control early and rolled to a 63-38 victory over Florida Atlantic in a Sun Belt Conference game on Saturday night in Jonesboro, Ark.
The Red Wolves (12-8, 6-5) never trailed in the game.
They led by 12 points at halftime and continued to expand the margin in handing the Owls (10-12, 5-6) their third straight loss.
Florida Atlantic shot only 31.7 percent from the field, missed all 10 of its tries from 3-point range, and had 21 turnovers to eight for the Red Wolves. Arkansas State shot 44.6 percent from the field.
The Owls also had only two assists, their lowest total since the 1997-98 season.
Senior guard Greg Gantt led Florida Atlantic in scoring with 13 points, giving him 26 on the two-game road trip after he had scored at least 22 points in each of the previous 11 games. He had 13 points in the loss at Arkansas-Little Rock two nights earlier.
Senior forward Brandon Peterson led Arkansas State with a game-high 15 points, which put him over 1,000 for his career. He scored the final basket of the game for the Red Wolves to put his career total at 1,001.
