BOONE, N.C. (AP) -- Michael Obacha scored 11 points and grabbed 16 rebounds as Appalachian State came from behind to beat Division-II North Greenville 78-70 on Wednesday night.
Obacha shot 70 percent (7 of 10) from the line and grabbed 10 offensive rebounds for second-chance shots. Mike Neal came off the bench to score a game-high 27 points for the Mountaineers (2-5).
North Greenville (6-2) held a 43-37 lead at the break, but Appalachian State went on a 15-2 run five minutes into the first half to lead by as many as 10 points. The Crusaders went on a run of their own and got within one point with five minutes to play.
Chris Dean scored 19 points to lead two other North Greenville players in double-figure scoring. The Crusaders shot better than Appalachian State from every point on the floor, but gave up 25 points off of 30 fouls.
