Only a day after The Predator's release date was pushed back, we have our first on-set look at the reboot/sequel.

Shane Black's movie is set in the present day and will refer to the mythology and events of the original as a new team assembles to battle the killer alien. Among them is Logan's Boyd Holbrook and going by these first photos, it'll be a painful mission.

Holbrook is joined by the likes of Game of Thrones' Alfie Allen, Keegan-Michael Key and Moonlight's Trevante Rhodes in The Predator.

Rhodes has been spotted on set hanging out and generally looking like a badass along Holbrook and Augusto Aguilera.

But perhaps we shouldn't be surprised if they don't all make it out alive with a 'corpse' already being spotted on set too.

The Predator was initially scheduled to come out on February 9, 2018, but it was reported yesterday (April 24) that the release date for the movie had been moved to August 3, 2018, and it's a change welcomed by the director.

"In truth, I endorsed this entirely. It's a great thing – also, a bit of a relief not to open against Marvel's Black Panther in Feb," Black replied to a concerned fan on Twitter.

Earlier this month, Arnold Schwarzenegger revealed that he has so far turned down the chance to appear in the movie.

"They asked me, and I read it, and I didn't like it – whatever they offered," he explained. "Except if there's a chance that they rewrite it, or make it a more significant role. But the way it is now, no, I won't do that."

The Predator stalks into cinemas on August 3, 2018.
