AP Poll: Notre Dame jumps into top 10, Michigan out, Iowa State in

The top eight of the Associated Press poll did not change from Week 8 to Week 9 after a relatively drama-free weekend, but Notre Dame did make a leap into the top 10.

The Irish, ranked No. 13 last week, jumped to No. 9 after its 49-14 home rout over rival USC. The USC Trojans dropped from No. 11 to No. 21 following the loss. To make room for Notre Dame at No. 9, Oklahoma, after edging Kansas State, moved down to No. 10 from No. 9 and Oklahoma State also dropped a spot, from No. 10 to No. 11, after an overtime win over Texas.

Ahead of Notre Dame, Alabama, Penn State, Georgia, TCU, Wisconsin, Ohio State, Clemson and Miami all stayed at Nos. 1-8, indicative of the lack of movement in the polls. While Notre Dame had the biggest move, NC State, Michigan State, UCF, Auburn and Stanford all moved up two spots.

Following its third straight win, No. 25 Iowa State made its first appearance in the Top 25 since 2005. Michigan, after getting blown out by No. 2 Penn State, fell out of the rankings after being No. 19 last week.
