Anthony Davis finished with 30 points and added 11 rebounds to lead the New Orleans Pelicans to a victory over the Miami Heat, 105-95. The Pelicans played an efficient game offensively, shooting 43-84 (51.2%) from the field and turning it over just six times. New Orleans (29-40) has now won back-to-back games after defeating Atlanta Hawks on Friday.
Davis went 13-22 from the field and 4-5 from the free throw line. New Orleans also got solid performances from Tyreke Evans with 16 points and 8 assists, and Al-Farouq Aminu with 12 points and 8 rebounds. LeBron James had another strong performance for Miami despite the loss, scoring 25 points on 10-18 shooting, including 2-4 from behind the arc. He also added 9 assists and 8 rebounds. Mario Chalmers contributed 19 points and 7 assists and Chris Bosh finished with 12 points and 6 rebounds.
Along with their eFG% of 55.4%, the Pelicans connected at a rate of 41.2% from 3-point range. On the season, they are 7-1 when they record marks above 55% and 40% in those respective categories. Conversely, the Heat are 4-8 when allowing their opponents to reach those percentages.
This drops Miami (47-21) to 1-1 against New Orleans on the year.
