Anthony Davis scored 24 and the New Orleans Pelicans defeated the Chicago Bulls, 88-79. New Orleans (20-26) gets one in the win column after losing to Minnesota on Wednesday.
Davis finished 10-14 from the field, in a strong performance. Tyreke Evans also chipped in for New Orleans, finishing with 11 points and 6 assists. Despite the loss, D.J. Augustin scored 23 points for Chicago on 8-17 shooting (1-5 on 3-point attempts), in addition to going 6-6 from the free throw line. He also registered 7 assists. Taj Gibson added 17 points and 10 rebounds and Joakim Noah finished with 14 points and 16 rebounds.
The Bulls posted an eFG% of just 40.7%, including 18.8% from 3-point range. This year, they are 3-8 when they record marks below 45% and 30% in those respective categories. On the other hand, the Pelicans are 4-1 when holding their opponents to such low percentages.
This drops Chicago (23-23) to 0-2 against New Orleans on the year.
Coming up next, the Pelicans take on the San Antonio Spurs, who are 33-13 on the year. The Bulls go up against the Sacramento Kings, currently 15-31 this season. The Pelicans lost their last two meetings with San Antonio.
