Los Angeles Angels second baseman Howie Kendrick, who has not started a game since August 5 because of a left knee strain, was activated from the disabled list on Tuesday.
He was available off the Angels bench in Tuesday's game against Toronto. However, Kendrick is not likely to get back into the starting lineup for several days.
Kendrick, 30, is hitting .301 with 11 home runs in 108 games this season. But with the Angels out of contention, they are unlikely to rush him back into action.
The Angels have him under contract through the 2015 season.
