LONDON (AP) -- Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas has been fired by the Premier League club a day after a 5-0 loss to Liverpool.

Tottenham says an ''agreement has been reached'' with Villas-Boas ''for the termination of his services.''

Tottenham is seventh in the league after 16 games and has struggled despite spending more than $160 million on players in the offseason.
