Amir Johnson: Plays Well in First Start of Season Staff

Update: Johnson got the start and had a season-high 19 points (8-11 FG, 3-4 FT) to go with nine boards and three blocks in 38 minutes Sunday against the Thunder.

Recommendation: Johnson got the start with Aaron Gray (flu) out. This was his first start of the season and he had been averaging just 22.3 minutes per game heading into Sunday's contest, so obviously his minutes were a big factor in him having perhaps his best game of the season. Since Gray was only out with the flu, we'd expect him to return soon, and Johnson will return to being just a deep league option unless his solid play Sunday earns him more minutes.
