After suffering an undisclosed injury, female bantamweight fighter Aleksandra Albu will postpone her Octagon debut, UFC officials announced on Tuesday.
Albu was scheduled to meet Julie Kedzie at UFC Fight Night 33 in Brisbane, Australia. Kedzie is now waiting for a new opponent.
Albu is a relative unknown in the MMA world, racking up a 5-0 record in her time as a professional fighter, according to her representatives. Her latest win came last June, a technical knockout of Lyubov Demidova at an event in Moscow called “Octagon Fight Club.”
Kedzie, a women's MMA veteran, is looking to get back on a winning track after losing her last three fights. In her latest bout, Kedzie dropped her UFC debut to Germaine de Randamie at UFC on Fox 8 by split decision. The Jackson's MMA fighter is 16-12 overall.
UFC Fight Night 33 will take place at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre on Dec. 7 (Dec. 6 in the U.S.).
