We know this, because the people at Up&Down were kind enough to share some details of A-Rod’s going away (we think) party and even a picture of the festivities.

A-Rod looks pretty happy, maybe even relieved that he can put this week behind him.

Also, that’s one incredibly huge bottle of champagne. You can read how much it cost in the snippet below.

“Friday night, following his last professional game as a New York Yankee, Alex Rodriguez and Jamie Foxx hosted an official retirement party for ARod at NYC hotspot, Up&Down.

The NY Yankee star, friends, and special guests filled the venue following his last game to celebrate his 22-year baseball career.

ARod celebrated with a 12-liter, $80,000 bottle of JAY Z’s Champagne Armand de Brignac which was carried out by staff wearing #13 jerseys. The night included a special musical performance by Nas.

Honestly, I’d just be happy with a cheeseburger and a Pepsi at my retirement party. As for the music, anything from the 80s.

All kidding aside, the postgame celebration seems to have gone much smoother than the pre-game ceremony at Yankee Stadium. Mother Nature doesn’t do dancing or $80,000 bottles of champagne anyway, so she was more at home chasing fans from their $1,000 seats.

As for the guest list at A-Rod’s big shindig. Pretty impressive.

Special guests that joined ARod included Dave Chappelle, Rita Ora, Michael Shannon, Party Next Door, Karrueche, Kent Jones, Darrelle Revis, John David Washington, Tony Allen, Myles White, Shane Vereen, Michael Gilchrist and New York Yankees’ teammates CC Sabathia and Dellin Betances.”

Sabathia pitched Friday, so it’s OK that he was there. As for Betances, he’s a machine. He doesn’t need sleep for a day game after a night game, so he was cool too.

As for A-Rod, well, we don’t know if he was even available to watch Saturday’s game. He indicated on Friday he probably wouldn’t be, but was planning on watching Mariano Rivera’s monument park ceremony on Sunday from an undisclosed location that wasn’t Yankee Stadium.

That covers A-Rod’s weekend. As for his Monday…. stay tuned!
