San Francisco 49ers linebacker Aldon Smith is free on $75,000 bail after turning himself in to police and being charged with possessing illegal assault weapons earlier this month, according to NBC Bay Area.
Smith has missed five games this season with the 49ers, being placed on "indefinite leave" due to his legal problems. He has pending court dates on Nov. 12 for the felony weapons charges, and Nov. 19 for misdemeanor DUI and drug charges.
Smith's weapons violations are a result of a June 2012 incident where Smith was stabbed at a party and two others were shot. Investigators found assault rifles and ammunition there.
He has not been with the 49ers after being arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and marijuana possession on Sept. 20.
