The San Francisco 49ers signed safety Raymond Ventrone to a two-year contract, the team announced Monday.
The 49ers also waived fullback Jason Schepler.
Ventrone, 29, has played in 73 career games with the New England Patriots and Cleveland Browns, and he played the past four years with the Browns.
He played in 12 games last season for the Browns, but did not start any of them. He had one rushing attempt for 35 yards.
