The San Francisco 49ers re-signed cornerback Perrish Cox with the status of Carlos Rogers uncertain pending an MRI on his hamstring.
Cox, 26, began the 2013 season with the 49ers and played in nine games before being released on November 12. He was then signed by the Seattle Seahawks and appeared in two games before being released Friday.
The 49ers had a roster opening with wide receiver Mario Manningham going on injured reserve last week, and coach Jim Harbaugh said the team knew over the weekend it would be re-signing Cox.
If Rogers misses Sunday's playoff game at the Green Bay Packers, Eric Wright would slide into the slot cornerback position.
