The makeup of the San Francisco 49ers' offensive line likely won't be known until hours before kickoff for Sunday's critical home game against the Seattle Seahawks.
Left guard Mike Iupati was listed as questionable Friday and isn't expected to play due to a knee injury. James Loney is expected to make his first career start in place of Iupati on the left side.
Left tackle Joe Staley is also questionable with a knee injury, but said he expects to face the Seahawks.
"So far so good. We'll see how he feels tomorrow," coach Jim Harbaugh said after Friday's practice. "He had a good day of work today. It's always good to check back the next day."
Also listed as questionable are wide receivers Jon Baldwin (calf) and Mario Manningham (knee), cornerback Tarell Brown (ribs), tight end Vance McDonald (ankle) and linebacker Dan Skuta (foot).
Harbaugh said his 49ers, who at 8-4 face an important game just in terms of earning a playoff spot, have had a strong week of practice in preparing for the 11-1 Seahawks.
And Harbaugh wants the focus on his team, not the on-going media interest in his often-bristly relationship with Seahawks coach Pete Carroll going back to their days as college coaches.
"It's about what it's supposed to be about, two good football teams," Harbaugh said. "It should be a very exciting game. Our guys are ready. They've had a really good week of practice. I think that's where it starts, with the preparation and they're excited to play this game."
