According to multiple reports, the Niners have reached an agreement with eight-year veteran Antoine Bethea to fill Whitner’s spot at the price of $23 million over four years.
Having spent all eight seasons of his NFL career with the Indianapolis Colts, some predicted Bethea would simply re-sign with the organization that selected him in the sixth round of the 2006 draft. But the two-time Pro Bowler apparently had other ideas, which means the Colts will more than likely look to the market to fill Bethea’s spot.
Possible targets include Jairus Byrd, T.J. Ward, Chris Clemons and Malcolm Jenkins.
