Somebody forgot to tell three Florida men that football season doesn’t start for five months.
According to Local10.com, three men were arrested for breaking into FAU Stadium in Boca Raton Monday night and are facing burglary and theft charges.
You may be wondering what the men stole. Well, according to police, it was just some beer. They fessed up to the crime, too. One allegedly said they trespassed at the stadium to simply “hang out and drink beer.”
Timothy Foo, 30, Christian Klein, 23, and Jesse Meacham, 21, were arrested on burglary and theft charges.
According to an FAU police report, an officer spotted Foo, Klein and Meacham getting off an elevator in the northwest lobby of FAU Stadium in Boca Raton. Officer Jennifer Ponce wrote in the report that she saw Klein holding a clear, plastic bag full of empty beer bottles.
Foo told Ponce that he entered the stadium after visiting hours and remained there so he could “hang out and drink,” the report said. Foo also said that he got the beers from a refrigerator on the third floor of the Martin F. and Jane Greenberg Foundation Tower, Ponce wrote.
I think, at the end of the day, most of us just want to “hang out and drink beer,” so I can certainly sympathize with these gents. Next time, though, they may just want to do it somewhere they are permitted to be. A bar, perhaps. There should be plenty of those in Boca Raton.
Who knows, maybe you’ll spot new Owls coach Lane Kiffin.
