2018 Hoops Offer List

Sooner Scoop

Currently, Lon Kruger and Oklahoma have just two scholarships available for their 2018 class.

Since they aren't exactly coming off of a high note after the school's first 20-loss season, the Sooners are comfortable being meticulous in their evaluations and also allowing the addition of five-star point guard Trae Young to returning starters Kameron Mcgusty, Kristian Doolittle, Rashard Odomes, and Khadeem Lattin to grow more enthusiasm in the program.

Size is clearly a focus for OU in this recruiting cycle, as eight of their 11 uncommitted offers are 6-foot-7 or taller. However, if rumors of transfers come to fruition, that would alleviate Oklahoma into more wiggle room - including a possible venture into the junior college ranks.

As things stand now, here are the soon-to-be seniors that hold a Sooner offer.

The Skinny: Smart is one of the top point guards in the country, but has had little to say about his Oklahoma offer. Many believe this will be a battle between Kentucky and home-state LSU.

The Skinny: Grimes is one of the top scoring threats in the country and of the elite prospects to come out of Texas in 2018. The Houston-area product has already visited Norman multiple times and the Sooners are considered one of the schools in the hunt along with Arizona, Baylor, Duke, Kansas, Kentucky, Texas, and Texas A&M. Grimes has stated he would like to play in a guard-oriented offense and plans to visit OU again this spring or summer.

The Skinny: There aren't many guards with Dort's athleticism that play with his brand of physicality and strength. The Canadian-born prospect hasn't had the Sooners on his radar, as many believe his future will be in Louisville with Rick Pitino.

The Skinny: The five-star forward visited Norman last summer on a recruiting trip that also included a stop in Kentucky. The Wildcats have yet to offer Moore, but that may just be a matter of time. Pulling the nation's No. 11 player out of Georgia will be a tall task for Oklahoma, but until the Wildcats join the fold, they appears to have as good a shot as anyone.

The Skinny: Gordon is a long, athletic player that is a complete prospect on both ends of the court. His frame and tenacity on defense make him a threat to force a turnover and start a fast break, while on offense Gordon's capable of knocking down a three or taking you off the dribble as a high-flyer to the hoop. The nation's No. 57 overall player visited Baylor, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, and UCLA last year and has mentioned those four schools as leaders along with Arizona, Arkansas, and Oregon.

The Skinny: Shittu is keeping the modern trend of top tier Canadian basketball talent moving to the United States. The power forward didn't venture far from his maple syrup roots for high school and if he doesn't choose one of college basketball's "blue bloods" expect a similar decision for college.

The Skinny: After spending his first two years of high school in Alaska, Hepa's attention from colleges has skyrocketed since moving into the contiguous 48 states. Many expect Hepa to stay out west in the Pac-12 with Oregon likely out in front.

The Skinny: Hymes transferred to Hillcrest from St. Mary's for his senior season to fill the void left by 2017's No. 2 overall player - DeAndre Ayton. Reports are that Hymes is now a legit 6-foot-10 and is someone that can be trusted to grab a rebound, dribble down the court himself, and shoot a pull-up three. While he has yet to receive offers from nearby powerhouses Arizona and UCLA, they loom large as the biggest threats to land the four-star.

The Skinny: Cunningham is no stranger to Oklahoma. The Rivals150 power forward has played in front of Sooner coaches multiple times, as well as visit Norman on his own dime. The Austin (Texas) Westlake standout is similar to 2017 signee Brady Manek, although, he may possess a more polished post game. The race to land Cunningham's signature is shaping up to be a Bedlam battle between Oklahoma and Oklahoma State.
