This 12-Year-Old Is Running One of Donald Trump's Campaign Offices

As Donald Trump continues to slide behind Hillary Clinton in the polls, his outreach efforts in one of the most important counties in a swing state rests in the hands of a child. KDVR reports that 12-year-old Weston Imer heads the Jefferson County campaign office, which includes Denver.

Though Weston's mother, Laurel, is registered as the official field coordinator, KDVR reports that her son "is in charge of the operation where volunteers will gather and help get out the vote."

"You have a responsibility to your children to teach them," she said.

The younger Imer hopes to teach others to "get involved" and believes that "kids need to be educated." He harbors political ambitions of his own. "Watch for me - 2040," he said. "And Barron Trump, if you are watching, in 2040, I'll take you as my running mate."

KDVR notes that Barron, Trump's youngest son, who is 10, would technically not be eligible to run by 2040 because he'd miss the minimum age requirement of 35 by a few months.
