Nets’ Nic Claxton not selected to 2023 NBA All-Star Team
The 2023 NBA All-Star reserves were announced on Thursday and despite the hope of many Nets fans, Brooklyn Nets center Nic Claxton was not selected by the coaches as an All-Star reserve. This came as a slight surprise since Claxton was popular among fans voting for the All-Star Game as he was either tenth or ninth throughout all rounds of voting.
Granted, the fans only vote for the starters and the coaches votes for the reserves, but even with that being said, Claxton has had a great season for Brooklyn. He has been a surprise this campaign as he has improved in every facet of his game from scoring in the post to defending the rim.
For the season, Claxton is averaging 13 points, 8.9 rebounds, 2.6 blocks (leading the league) per game while shooting 73.9% from the field. There are even many people in the NBA space who tout Claxton as a candidate for the MIP and DPOY awards.
