Nets’ Mikal Bridges says Luka Doncic has ‘deeper bag’ than Kevin Durant

Brooklyn Nets guard Mikal Bridges, who has won over many fans of the Nets due to his performance towards the end of the 2022-23 season, may be setting Twitter on fire very soon. In a recent episode of the “Run Your Race” podcast hosted by Dallas Mavericks wing Theo Pinson and AJ Richardson, Bridges was asked which player had a deeper bag: Luka Doncic or Kevin Durant?

To make things simple, for those who don’t know, “bag” is a term to describe how many moves a basketball player can do on the court. For example, if a player has just one go-to move and nothing else, one could say that that player doesn’t have much of a bag. However, if a player can do things like crossovers, hesitations, stutter steps, etc, one could say that that player has a deeper bag.

This term is usually correlated with how well a player can handle the basketball. With that being said, Doncic and Durant are two of the best players in the NBA in their own right. Despite that fact, Bridges is giving the nod to Doncic:

“Who has a deeper bag?” Pinson asked of Bridges. “Luka Doncic or Kevin Durant?” “The (expletive) who makes me switch directions every (expletive) dribble: Luka,” Bridges answered after contemplating the question for a few seconds.
