The NBA announced on Friday afternoon that Nets forward Kevin Durant has been fined $50,000 for using “offensive and derogatory language on social media.”

A series of direct messages between Durant and actor Michael Rapaport were recently made public by Rapoport.

Durant was asked about the messages being made public on Thursday night when he met with reporters via a Zoom call.

“I’m sorry that people [saw] the language I used,” Durant said. It’s not really what I want people to see and hear from me, but hopefully I can move past it and get back out on the floor.”

The 11-time All-Star and four-time NBA scoring champ also updated how he’s feeling as he recovers from a hamstring strain, saying he’s not feeling much pain, but “you don’t want to force one of these injuries and go out there and make it worse.”
