Nets’ Jacque Vaughn: Kevin Durant received ‘really good’ report from his doctor on his right knee
Brooklyn Nets forward Kevin Durant has missed Brooklyn’s last 13 games with his sprained right MCL that he suffered on Jan. 8 against the Miami Heat. Since Durant has been out rehabbing his injury, the Nets have gone 5-8.
However, on the bright side, head coach Jacque Vaughn said on Tuesday that Durant received a “really good” report from his doctor on his recovery. Vaughn said that Durant hasn’t been cleared for contact and as a result, his return timetable is to be determined at this time.
Per ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Durant isn’t expected to return until after the All-Star break which isn’t too surprising given that Brooklyn’s focus is on the rest of this season. NBA reported Chris Haynes reported that Durant will not play in the All-Star Game despite being a starter for the Eastern Conference. If Durant’s return timeline holds, the earliest he could return after the All-Star break is Feb. 24 at the Chicago Bulls.
Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Durant (MCL sprain) will not play in the All-Star game on Feb. 19 in Salt Lake City, league sources tell @NBAonTNT, @BleacherReport.
