Neptune Energy expands output from Cygnus North Sea gas field

LONDON, April 27 (Reuters) - Neptune Energy said on Thursday it had started production from the 11th well of its Cygnus gas field in the British North Sea in a boost to the country's domestic production.

The new well is expected to produce approximately 4,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day (boed), enough gas to heat some 200,000 UK homes, bringing the field's total output to 38,000 boed.

Private-equity backed Neptune Energy is the operator of the Cygnus field in which it holds a 38.75% stake while Spirit Energy holds the remaining 61.25%.

Cygnus, located in the southern North Sea, started production in 2016.
