Neosho has 5 in double figures in win over Lamar

Jan. 24—Neosho boys basketball had five players finish in double figures on Tuesday night in a win over Lamar at Neosho High School.

The Wildcats improve to 5-11 with the 69-53 win as the Tigers fall to 11-6.

Neosho was led by Collier Hendricks' 17 points. The senior guard started the game with three 3-pointers in the opening quarter to lead a 22-point performance in eight minutes of action for the Wildcats.

The score was 22-14 after the first quarter of play and the scoreboard showed 33-24 at the half.

Colton Southern was second in scoring for Neosho and he got 9 of his 13 points in the third quarter as he led a 16-point showing in that period.

But Lamar played even in that stanza keeping the deficit at just 9 points entering the final quarter.

That's when Ty Harris had some key baskets, scoring 8 points in the fourth quarter to lead Neosho's 20 points in the quarter. That was enough to seal the win and even stretch the lead out. Lamar couldn't score, with the Wildcats in that last quarter only tallying 13 points.

Harris finished the game with 11 total.

Kanten Smith (12) and Kaiden Asberry (10) joined Hendricks, Southern and Harris in double figures.

Lamar was led by Ian Ngugi's 15 points while Alex Wilkerson and Chase Querry chipped in 10 apiece.

Neosho is back in action ay 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 30 as it hosts Nixa (10-4).
