Women's Wednesday DI Roundup: Richmond Stuns No. 10 Virginia In 2OT Thriller & More

The Richmond Spiders took down the tenth-ranked ranked Virginia Cavaliers during an in-state thriller on yesterday evening, winning in double overtime off Arden Tierney's third goal of the day to claim the 16-15 victory. Virginia had built a four-point lead in the first half, led by graduate-student Ashlyn McGovern who tallied three of her five goals over the course of the opening half. Richmond refused to let the Cavaliers pull away with the lead, mounting a second quarter rally to close the half trailing 8-7. The Spiders' offense was led by Grace Muldoon, Colleen Quinn, and Lindsey Frank scoring two goals each.
