LOGAN, Utah (AP) -- Andrew Peasley passed for 239 yards and three touchdowns, and rushed for 118 yards and another score, and Utah State used four third-quarter touchdowns to beat New Mexico 41-27 on Thursday night in a battle of winless teams.
UW’s senior defensive end hasn’t played this season as he continues to work his way back from offseason foot surgery, and he’ll miss Thursday’s game as well, UW coach coach Craig Bohl said. The same goes for right guard Logan Harris, who missed the Cowboys’ game against CSU with a medical issue that’s unrelated to the coronavirus. Bohl said Harris should return at some point this season, but the Cowboys will have to go at least one more game without two of their top players in the trenches.
The Cowboys’ game against Utah State is off because of an upward trend of COVID-19 cases within the Aggies’ program, the Mountain West announced Wednesday. The announcement came a day before the Cowboys (1-2, 1-2 Mountain West) were scheduled to host USU (0-4, 0-4) at War Memorial Stadium.
