Today we get our first official look at the new and improved Bryan Harsin version of the Auburn Tigers. Our new coach has said all of the right things, and seems positively straightforward in his direction for the team — “1-0 mentality every day” — so maybe we’re getting a little more of an organized process to things on and off the field. His support staff has expanded, and he seems to have brought in assistants that cater more to the players than anything else.
If the offense plays well, that means the defense didn’t. If the defensive dominates, that means the offense struggled. And neither outcome Saturday would be reason for concern.
There have been examples in the recent past of quarterbacks showing they were the man for the job with a great showing in Auburn’s A-Day Spring Game, the latest being Jarrett Stidham in 2017. After the transfer from Baylor’s performance, there was no doubt that he was the right man for the job and Tigers’ fans everywhere were put at ease knowing that the position was set. That brings us to this year and Bo Nix.
