Associated Press Omaha will represent the Summit League in the NCAA Division I men's soccer tournament starting next week because regular-season champion Denver is unable to participate because of COVID-19 protocols. Omaha was next in line to represent the league because it was the regular-season runner-up. It will be the Mavericks' first NCAA appearance since 2017.
Marquette’s chances of making the Big East women’s lacrosse tournament aren’t looking so hot right now. After last week’s contests which went into the record books as a split with Georgetown, the Golden Eagles are now 2-4 in league play with four games to go. They’re in fifth place in the Big East, half a game back of both Villanova and Georgetown at 3-3.
With perhaps their most important two-game set this season, the UConn Huskies looked to take first place in the Big East with a sweep over the Denver Pioneers in a weekend matchup at home. While UConn fought hard, the Huskies ultimately fell in two tough matchups against a tough Pioneers lineup, with the first game going to a surprising triple overtime matchup. It was a disappointing set of games for the Huskies that brings their record down to 8-4 and 4-2 in Big East play.
