Morgan State tops Winston-Salem State 73-64

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (AP)—Rogers Barnes scored 17 points and Morgan State pulled away from Winston-Salem State in the second half for a 73-64 win Saturday night.

The Bears (13-10), who lead the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference, held the first-half advantage until a Jamal Durham 3-pointer with 38 seconds left gave the Rams (6-15) a 33-32 lead to take into halftime.

With Winston-Salem State ahead 41-37, Morgan State used three straight 3-pointers and a three-point play to lead 49-42 with 13:15 left.

Reggie Holmes, who was 1-for-9 in the first half, scored nine of his 15 points during that spurt. The Bears added a 15-6 spurt to take their biggest lead at 64-48 with 6:31 left.

Marquise Kately added 12 points for the Bears, who have won three straight.

Brian Fisher scored a season-high 25 points for the Rams, followed by Jamal Durham with 16 and Paul Davis with 13.
