Three-star receiver Devin Carter caught a 29-yard touchdown pass during Clayton (N.C.) High’s 42-7 home win over Four Oaks (N.C.) South Johnston High. He finished the game with five receptions for 96 yards and the one score. Clayton remained undefeated at 7-0.

For the season, Carter has 19 receptions for 454 yards and seven touchdowns, and rushed eight times for 70 yards and two more scores. On Sunday, it was announced that Carter had been selected for the Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas on Dec. 16 in Spartanburg, S.C.

North Davidson is 6-1 on the season and ranked No. 8 in the Class 2A ratings by MaxPreps.com. Dunn will kick for North Carolina in the Shrine Bowl.

Three-star running back commit Trent Pennix has taken on an increased role on defense for Raleigh Sanderson. He piled up five tackles during a 29-28 last-second loss at city-rival and undefeated Cardinal Gibbons. Pennix also rushed 10 times for 33 yards and a score and caught three passes for 73 yards and another touchdown (68 yards) in the defeat, which dropped Sanderson to 5-3.

Pennix has rushed 115 times for 628 yards and 11 touchdowns, and caught 21 passes for 244 yards and three more scores this season. He’s added 10 tackles, two pass breakups and an interception on defense.

Heritage improved to 7-0 on the season and is ranked No. 4 in the 4A class by MaxPreps.com. Person has rushed 141 times for 1,471 yards and 23 touchdowns and added 13 receptions for 194 yards and three more scores. He was also picked for the Shrine Bowl.

Robinson has 19 receptions for 354 yards and three touchdowns this season. It was his second 100-yard receiving game, and he had 96 yards in the opener.
