Steve Kornacki made the long-awaited jump to “Sunday Night Football” – and fans loved it.
The NBC News correspondent rose to fame while expertly running the network’s election map nonstop during its 2020 presidential election coverage last month. He showed up on NBC’s pregame and halftime shows for the Kansas City Chiefs’ 22-16 win against the Denver Broncos.
While it wasn’t the subject Kornacki is used to, he didn’t miss a beat.
Steve Kornacki breaks down NFL playoff picture
Just like he did when he broke down the election county by county in swing states, Kornacki got into the thick of things in the NFC and AFC playoff races.
With just 32 teams in the league instead of more than 3,000 counties to look at and analyze, he had a significantly easier time pulling it off. The iconic oversized board and khaki pants, of course, were along for the ride.
To their delight, it sounds like Kornacki may actually return at some point this season, too.
