As promised by Yankees manager Aaron Boone on Thursday, there were organizational talks on Friday to figure out if they wanted to activate third baseman Josh Donaldson from the COVID injured list at some point this weekend. Turns out there was a Plan C. Due to nagging pain in his throwing shoulder, Donaldson was transferred to the 10-day IL with the stint backdated to May 23.
Less than 10 games remain in the NBA season, which means shopping season is right around the corner for all 30 teams. Decisions that could alter the landscape of the market are looming for the likes of Kyrie Irving, who holds a player option with the Brooklyn Nets, and James Harden, who didn't trigger his option when dealt from the Nets to the Philadelphia 76ers.
Kyrie Irving and the Brooklyn Nets did not have a great relationship this season. For the most part, Kyrie did not play many games for the Nets as he was barred from playing at home due to vaccine mandates. Eventually, those mandates were lifted which allowed Kyrie back onto the floor.
