Chris Paul started for the Phoenix Suns on Thursday night in Game 3 against the Los Angeles Clippers after missing the first two games of the Western Conference finals while in the NBA’s health and safety protocols. Paul was upgraded to available from probable on the league’s injury report and participated in the team’s shootaround Thursday. He scored a game-high 37 points in final game of the second-round series against the Denver Nuggets on June 13.
Sure, it wasn't the same as having a superstar like Murray on the floor, but Campazzo held his own and played a massive role in the Nuggets making it to the Western Conference Semifinals. Campazzo started at point guard in 15 of the Nuggets last 16 regular season games and started all but one of Denver’s 10 playoff games. Not only was Campazzo a steadying force for the Nuggets offense, but his defensive tenacity was on full display each and every time he was on the floor.
They could technically trade this pick for a helpful rotation player, but that player will be more expensive earlier. Instead, the right thing to do is to keep the pick, identify a player that can help Denver’s core players going forward, and patiently develop that player to be impactful while still on their rookie contract. Assuming they make a draft selection at 26, who would you want them to target in the draft?
